Visited this location after a more than 5 year hiatus. walked in mid afternoon. A gentleman by the name of Dei took my order. I was there just a few minutes and my food was ready. I ordered the Thai coconut chicken curry. I will come back to try more dishes soon!
I used to go to this Pei Wei a lot before the pandemic, so I got nostalgic for it, and since I had a gift card for Pei Wei I decided to return today. The gift card couldn't be used due to Pei Wei being owned by another company, but the people working there were very helpful and told us about it, along with how good the food was. The food was very good, even better than I remember, and I would love to return in the future considering that the location is close to us and that my meal was amazing. I don't know why this Pei Wei has a 3.5 star rating, it is honestly one of the best fast-casual Asian places I've been to since I started reviewing restaurants here on Yelp. That's saying quite a lot, I've been to quite a few. There's a lot of dishes and customization options for them, so most people will find something they enjoy here, and considering how great my meals have always been, I think everyone should go to Pei Wei at least once.
So I've been here 2x and I have to say this time was a drastic improvement from my first experience. The first time was December 2022 and it took Over an hour to get my food. It was awful and my kids were starving. However today was fantastic I ordered it to be ready at 715 and when I arrived they were bagging up my order. I got 3 kids meals, Mongolian green beans, fried rice and Thai curry chicken. This is a very reasonably priced place with pretty good food that my whole family enjoys. The firecracker chicken had a great taste with a nice kick as did the Mongolian green beans. They were nice and crunchy with a spicy kick. The kids meals were a great size with a lot of rice and a good portion of meat. I ate this as my primary meal along with the green beans. I loved that they had chop stick helpers as the kids and I love using them but suck at it. Overall very happy with my food and the service today.
For the month of February, Pei Wei hosted Tiger Tuesday, which came with 1 shareable appetizer, 2 entrées, and 1 shareable dessert for $25.99. An awesome deal, it was the perfect introduction to the restaurant. T SHAREABLES: Yum Yum Shrimp - Crispy, hand-battered shrimp tossed in our sweet, creamy Yum Yum sauce. Served over a lettuce blend. - This has the same traditional great taste of bang bang shrimp. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED. Mongolian Green Beans ($5.99) - Wok-seared green beans tossed with garlic, chili paste, and our sweet and savory Mongolian sauce. - The sauce takes these green beans to the next level. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED, almost MANDATORY. ENTRÉE: Thai Dynamite Tofu (+ $2.19 for fried rice) - Wok-seared five-spice tofu with red bell peppers, onions, scallions, and basil. Tossed in a Sriracha chili soy sauce and topped with a fresh lime wedge. - Loved the tofu and veggies. I loved the tofu so much, I refused to share, lol. The taste and crispiness is absolutely divine. The fried rice didn't have the taste I was used to, but I doused it in some soy sauce, which woke up the flavor. EXTRA (S: Side of Noodles ($2.19) Lo Mein Sauce ($0.69) - You gotta specify that you want sauce on your noodles cause the sauce is the star of the show. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED. DESSERT: Thai Donuts - Warm, scratch-made donuts fried to order and tossed in Saigon cinnamon and cane sugar. Served with a sweetened condensed milk dipping sauce. - PERFECTION and if you've ever tasted sweetened condensed milk, you know it's the perfect sauce for anything doughy and fried.
